Карпенко: в процессе сбора подписей жалоб в ЦИК не поступало
No complaints have been received by the Central Election Commission during the signature collection by initiative groups in support of nominating candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko told journalists, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"No complaints or appeals regarding this matter have been received by the Central Election Commission. Signature collection will continue until December 6 inclusive," Igor Karpenko explained. "After all signature sheets are submitted, their verification will begin in accordance with the law. Following this, commissions at their meetings will approve the results of these verifications, drawing up relevant protocols on the number of signatures for each region and the city of Minsk. Based on this, the Central Election Commission will decide on the number of signatures that can be considered for the registration of each contender who submits documents for registration as a candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus. Preliminarily, I can say that we are planning a Central Election Commission meeting for December 23 on the registration of candidates for President of the Republic of Belarus."

Agitation will begin on January 1.

"The election campaign is proceeding in accordance with the approved calendar plan," Igor Karpenko added.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for January 26, 2025.
