Qatari business shows interest in implementing projects in the FEZ "Vitebsk"
A Qatari business mission plans to visit the FEZ "Vitebsk" in 2018. Agreements on this were reached following the visit of the Prince of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Ali Al Thani, to the regional center, as reported by the official representative of the FEZ "Vitebsk", Yulia Mikolaichik.
During negotiations at the FEZ administration, the Qatari guest was acquainted with the investment opportunities for doing business and the logistical advantages of locating production facilities in the FEZ "Vitebsk", as well as with the working conditions and preferences for residents. Opportunities for financial cooperation were discussed, particularly on projects in the agricultural sector related to the cultivation of grain crops. In addition, issues of interaction on informing Qatari business circles about investment opportunities in Belarus and promoting the interests of FEZ "Vitebsk" residents and their products in the markets of the Middle East countries were touched upon.
All current investment proposals and information on land plots for projects in the agricultural sector will be provided to representatives of the Qatari business community interested in their implementation, for whom a business mission to the FEZ "Vitebsk" will be organized before the end of the current year, Yulia Mikolaichik added.
The FEZ "Vitebsk" was established in 1999, occupies a territory of over 2.4 thousand hectares, and consists of 13 sectors, including 7 in Vitebsk, 4 in Orsha District, and one each in Vitebsk and Postavy Districts. 39 enterprises with the participation of investors from 12 countries are registered as FEZ residents, carrying out activities in 25 production areas (machine building, electronics, veterinary medicine, chemical, fuel, food, light industry, etc.).
