By 2015, every district in Belarus is planned to be equipped with stationary vehicle diagnostic stations

July 24, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. By 2015, all districts of Belarus should be provided with stationary vehicle inspection stations, the director of the unitary enterprise "Beltekhosmotr" Anatoly Pashkevich told reporters today. In Vitebsk, he took part in a republican meeting dedicated to the results of the state technical inspection of vehicles in Belarus for the first half of 2009. Today, 204 stations with 223 diagnostic lines, including 19 mobile stations, conduct state technical inspection of vehicles in Belarus. Currently, stationary stations are absent in 37 districts of the country. The republican program for the development of the state technical inspection system for 2006-2010 provides for the introduction of 21 more diagnostic stations by 2011. Thus, stationary diagnostic stations will be absent in only 25 districts. The prospective task is to provide each district with stationary stations so that car owners can constantly receive state technical inspection services, emphasized Anatoly Pashkevich. Another prospective task is to improve the quality of services provided and customer service for car owners. Currently, "Beltekhosmotr" is implementing a system for booking diagnostics via the Internet, and for two years now, all stations have been working on a pre-registration basis. The process of assessing the technical condition of vehicles is also being maximally automated, and the service of undergoing technical inspection without the owner being behind the wheel, who can observe the procedure on a monitor at that time, is being developed. The implementation of full video recording of what is happening on the diagnostic line has begun. All this is aimed at increasing the transparency of service provision, so that no one has doubts about the bias of the enterprise's specialists, noted Anatoly Pashkevich. In addition, the enterprises of the state technical inspection system are expanding the range of services for car owners, who, upon arriving for diagnostics, should have the opportunity to resolve a number of other issues related to vehicle maintenance and operation. Over the six months of the current year, the enterprises of the state technical inspection system for vehicles conducted almost 1 million vehicle inspections and issued over 747 thousand permits for vehicles to participate in road traffic. At the same time, none of the regions allowed a decrease in the number of inspected vehicles compared to the same period last year. -0-
