Every resident of the Vitebsk region will be able to plant a tree during the Forest Week
March 24, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The republican campaign "Forest Week" will be held in the Vitebsk region from April 18 to 24, the first deputy general director of the Vitebsk Production Forestry Association (PLHO) Boris Starovoytov told a BELTA correspondent.
Forest Week will start in Belarus on April 4. The Vitebsk region will join the campaign last. This is due to the climatic conditions of the region, the later arrival of spring, the interlocutor noted.
At the same time, preparations for this event are already underway in all forestry enterprises. In each of them, sites have been identified where afforestation and landscaping will be carried out. A list of cultural and educational events is currently being formed, and interesting campaigns involving activists of the BRSM and students are being prepared. In addition, the Forest Week program includes an exhibition of logging equipment, a meeting with graduates of the Polotsk Forestry College, and excursions along ecological trails.
Boris Starovoytov emphasized that everyone is invited to participate in the campaign. Every resident of the region will have the opportunity to plant their own tree. PLHO employees will provide planting material, tools, and organize transportation. In addition, teams of enterprises, organizations, and institutions can plant alleys during these days. For example, the Ukrainian diaspora has already come up with the initiative to plant a public garden in the urban-type settlement of Ruba, Vitebsk district. -0-
