The KGBK will monitor the implementation of investment projects in small towns of the Vitebsk region
May 27, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Regional Committee for State Control intends to monitor the implementation of investment projects in small towns in August. This was announced by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for State Control Vasily Maksimov today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, according to a BELTA correspondent.
In general, the region has fulfilled the task of the State Comprehensive Program for the Development of Regions, Small and Medium-Sized Urban Settlements for attracting investment in fixed capital. In 2007-2010, almost Br1.8 trillion was mastered, and 447 investment projects and measures were completed. Of the ten most important investment projects included in the state program, the implementation of seven has been completed, the first deputy chairman of the committee for economy of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Svyatoslav Zarovsky informed at the meeting.
At the same time, almost every second small settlement has unrealized projects. Planned investment volumes have not been mastered for 40 projects. In addition, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee believes that the work on attracting foreign investment to the economy of small towns is ineffective. In 2009, $12.2 million of foreign investment was attracted (24% of the total volume), and in the current year - slightly more than $9 million. -0-
