Chinese company invests in the construction of dairy farms in the Vitebsk region
"It is expected that a complex designed for a very large number of cattle will appear on a 45,000-hectare site in the Tolochin and Senno districts. The significance of the project also lies in the fact that we have found a direct investor from China. The firm is well-known, we have been negotiating very cautiously all this time, and we have shown the selected site. These territories were prepared specifically for the construction of such farms, but it was assumed that there would be 4-5 of them. The future complex is so large-scale that it was necessary to combine plots in two districts. The deadlines for land allocation have been set, but we are not rushing our Chinese partners," said Oleg Matskevich, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The parties agreed that the final investment amount will be determined after the business plan is approved. The implementation deadlines are not yet specified, as the project does not exclude changes, including the construction of two bio-complexes instead of one on the proposed site, as well as the construction of new dairy farms in other districts.
Xu Fang, Deputy Chairman of the Animal Husbandry Committee of Henan Province, where the company's office is located, noted that the company will actively contribute to the project implementation. The Vitebsk region, with its favorable conditions for animal husbandry development, attracted the partners. They are also impressed by the attitude of the Belarusian government, which supports the development of this particular sector of the economy in the northern region.
"We believe that the 'One Belt - One Road' concept is very correct, and we want to support it with action," added Dai Shiwei, Chairman of the Board of the Chinese company. - Our investment project will also be developed on the basis of friendship between China and Belarus. For its implementation, we will attract Chinese resources and technologies from Israel and the Netherlands. It is possible that scientists and specialists from other countries will be involved. From our side, everything is already
prepared. In the first stage, we will invest around $200 million. But this is just the beginning, there will be other projects and facilities. I believe that here we will be able to produce products of the highest quality, which will be confirmed by certificates from the European Union and China. The main goal is export."Drex Food Group Co., Ltd. is the largest dairy company that invests in various countries. It is involved in raising cows, supplying milk and beef, tea production, research and development activities, and has its own printing house.
