Chinese Qingdao and Orsha District will sign an agreement on establishing friendly relations

Qingdao, China, and the Orsha district will sign an agreement on establishing friendly relations on September 13, said Igor Kossovsky, Director of the Orsha branch of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation will be headed by the Mayor of Qingdao, Meng Fanli. It includes almost 20 people, including representatives of the city administration and business. Yesterday, the Chinese partners took part in a business forum of the pilot zone of regional trade and economic cooperation "China - SCO" in Minsk. In May of this year, the regions signed a protocol of intent to establish friendly ties.

Now, the parties plan to hold negotiations at the district executive committee and sign an agreement on establishing friendly relations. The Orsha district plans to increase exports to China.

"Representatives of the company 'Bremeno Group' will also discuss with Chinese partners the prospects for cooperation in the construction of the multimodal industrial and logistics complex 'Bremeno-Orsha'," said Igor Kossovsky.

Then, the guests will familiarize themselves with the products of some regional enterprises, and also visit the "Dom lna" (House of Flax) store of the local flax mill. In accordance with the credit agreement between the Export-Import Bank of China and the Orsha flax mill, a credit line was opened for the implementation of an investment project to modernize the enterprise with production expansion in 2015-2017. It was completed at the end of last year, with an investment volume of Br129 million. For January-June 2018, the volume of foreign trade of the Orsha district with China amounted to $3 million. The Orsha flax mill supplied goods worth $300 thousand. The enterprise is currently the only exporter to China in the region.
