New books will be presented during the Polotsk celebrations in honor of Saint Euphrosyne

June 4, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Presentations of new publications under the auspices of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, designed to make a significant contribution to the development of church and secular historical science, will take place during the celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the transfer of the holy relics of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk from Kyiv to Polotsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press secretary of the Patriarchal Exarch, Andrei Petrushkevich. The main gift for the reader will be the book "Polotsk Rejoicing," published by the collective of nuns of the Spaso-Yefrosinievsky Monastery in cooperation with secular scholars. This is a colorfully illustrated historical and biographical work dedicated to the prehistory and immediate chronicle of the events of 100 years ago - the solemn transfer of the relics of St. Euphrosyne from Kyiv to Polotsk in 1910. "As this event had a very significant symbolic meaning, it attracted wide public attention at that time. And today, the opportunity to rethink the details of this historical phenomenon is very important from the perspective of church and national history," the interlocutor noted. -0-
