On the Day of the Elderly, «Belaya Rus» visited the Voronovo boarding house for the elderly and disabled

– This holiday provides an additional opportunity to once again pay tribute to the generation that survived the Great Patriotic War and rebuilt the country in the post-war period. Representatives of Vitebskoblgaz, which has the largest primary organization of "Belaya Rus" in our region, on their own initiative decided to pay attention to people who, by the will of fate, ended up in a boarding house. The activists tried to make their lives more comfortable, – emphasized Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Chairman of the regional organization of the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus".

Vladimir Terentyev noted that the state is making a lot of efforts, both financial and moral, to provide the older generation with decent living conditions, so that those who are in social boarding institutions are surrounded by care and attention and live in an environment as close to home as possible. The activists of the primary organization handed over a modern widescreen TV to Tatyana Kaminskaya, Director of the social institution, and also prepared a festive concert and a sweet table.

– There are 135 people living in our boarding house. 65 of them are disabled, 15 are wheelchair users, and the rest are elderly citizens aged 65 and over. We also have two long-livers who are over a hundred years old, – said Tatyana Kaminskaya, adding that such events and visits from guests help older people feel needed, and such gifts allow them to master modern technologies.
