The number of written appeals to the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee decreased by 30%

Before the direct line, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, asked the Head of the Department for Citizens' Appeals and Legal Entities of the Regional Executive Committee, Ilona Shulga, about the effectiveness of direct lines.

"There is a decrease in written appeals from citizens, their number has decreased by about 30%," said Ilona Shulga. "In 25-30% of cases, citizens' demands are met, the vast majority of responses are explanatory, and some appeals remain under control." Nikolai Sherstnev informed the heads of committees and departments of the regional executive committee present at the direct line, as well as the chairmen of city and district executive committees (who worked on-site via video conferencing), that he had instructed his assistant to personally contact the applicant after receiving a report on the fulfillment of the governor's instructions and find out how the issue was resolved.

"The feedback is mostly positive. Often, where solving the problem does not require significant costs, everything is corrected promptly," said the region's head. "We have systematized the complaints that are received. The vast majority of the issues raised fall within the competence of local authorities."

To confirm his words, Nikolai Sherstnev gave several examples of problems that were voiced during his previous direct line.

tidying up the cemetery, installing a handrail on the stairs, felling hazardous trees, etc. The assistant to the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Sysoev, in turn, noted that the execution of instructions is constantly monitored.

"Some problems are solved on the same day because committee and department heads are present at the direct line," the governor's assistant stated. More than 20 calls were received today during the direct telephone line with the chairman of the regional executive committee. Appeals concerned the creation of conditions for the development of mass sports, funding for the "Khimik" hockey club, optimization and consolidation of enterprises, house repairs, housing privatization, laying utilities to a microdistrict of individual housing construction, land use, wage and child benefit arrears, utility payments, inflated cost of visiting the bathhouse, as well as services of one of the cable TV operators. Nikolay Sherstnev delved into each situation in detail, involving the chairmen of district executive committees and heads of regional executive committee departments in the conversation when necessary.
