The number of small businesses in the Vitebsk region is growing
As of October 1, almost 30.9 thousand small business entities were registered in the region (including over 8.3 thousand organizations and over 22.5 thousand individual entrepreneurs). Over 9 months, more than Br237 million was received from small businesses, which accounted for 18.4% of payments controlled by tax authorities.
The most significant increase in this sector of the economy occurred in Vitebsk, where it increased by 385 entities, as well as in the Orsha district (plus 120 entities). The highest growth rates in the number of small business entities are noted in Beshenkovichi (106.5%), Miory (105.9%), Braslav (105.5%), and Vitebsk (104.6%) districts.
When choosing the form of entrepreneurial activity for future business, initiative citizens in the Vitebsk region prefer the status of an individual entrepreneur. Over 9 months, the number of individual entrepreneurs increased by 944, or by 4.4%, and as of October 1, it exceeded 22.5 thousand units. During the same period, the number of organizations - small business entities decreased by approximately 1% to 8.3 thousand legal entities. As of October 1, 229 medium-sized business organizations (with 101 to 250 employees) were registered in the Vitebsk region, which is 7.7% less than at the beginning of 2019. At the same time, an increase in the number of medium-sized organizations is noted in six districts, and in three other regions their number has not changed.
