The population census call center has started operating in Belarus

From October 1, a call center has started operating, where you can get all the information of interest about the population census of Belarus, the National Statistical Committee reported.

The unified inquiry number (8-801-100-3131) is listed on the Belstat website. By calling it, you can get free information about the methods of conducting the census, the addresses of stationary sites, and other information. "Organizational questions are already being received today. This information can also be found on the main page of our website. By choosing the method of conducting the census that is more convenient for the respondent, they will learn all the details in the corresponding tab. You can already familiarize yourself with the interactive map of the placement of stationary sites in Minsk and the regions," Belstat noted.

A promotional website for the census is also operating at www.перепись.бел and www.census.by, where you can review data from the 2009 campaign and find useful information and tips about the upcoming event.

In addition, SMS notifications have been launched today: some Belarusians have already received reminders-invitations to participate in the census.

From October 4 to 30, a population census will be held in the country under the slogan "A look at the present - a step into the future." The previous campaign was held 10 years ago. Respondents will be asked to answer 49 questions, including about basic demographic and national-ethnic characteristics, migration activity, education, sources of livelihood, employment, number of children, housing conditions, and economic activity.

You can be enumerated in one of three ways: independently and at your convenience fill out questionnaires via the Internet, at stationary sites, or at your home during an oral interview with a census taker. From October 4 to 18, mobile stationary sites will also operate by request from organizations.

Belstat will provide the first information on the population size in February 2020. Detailed information on socio-demographic characteristics, including actual unemployment, will be provided in July 2020, and information on the most complex part of the questionnaire – population activities in the agricultural sector – in July 2021.
