May 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The XII International Festival of Children's Creativity "Dvina-Dzvina-Daugava" will be held on May 30 in the Verkhnedvinsk district, the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
Creative groups from Russia, Lithuania, and Latvia will take part in the celebration. Belarus will be represented at the festival by creative youth from Orsha, Lepel, Vitebsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Miory, Sharkovshchina, and Verkhnedvinsk districts. About 350 people are expected in total.
This year, the festival is held under the motto "Creativity without borders," so the groups are not limited to a specific theme and will showcase their best concert programs. The celebration will open with a theatrical performance dedicated to the historical unity of neighboring countries and the river connecting them. A symbolic moment will be the meeting of the Queen of the Dvina with delegations of participants arriving at the celebration by water. Then, a real extravaganza of events will begin: a concert prepared by groups from different countries, a dance and entertainment program for children, demonstration performances by members of the equestrian sports school from the urban settlement of Osveya, an exhibition of floral compositions "Flowers of Childhood," and a fair of folk craft masters. In addition, there will be game and sports grounds, attractions, and mobile trade outlets.
The district executive committee noted that on the eve of the festival, on May 29, arriving groups from Russia and Lithuania will give concerts in the agro-towns of Valyntsy and Shaiterovo.
The "Dvina-Dzvina-Daugava" Festival of Children's Creativity is designed to strengthen friendly and cultural ties between young people from different countries. Its organizer is the Department of Culture of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee. -0-
