February 5, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. The team of the Minsk Regional Customs won a confident victory in the State Customs Committee (SCC) ski race championship, which concluded today in Vitebsk, BELTA correspondent reports.
Minsk Regional Customs left no chance to their rivals after the first day of the competition based on the results of three individual races. The fate of the second and third team places was decided in the 3x3 km relay, when women and heads of customs authorities were to participate in the race as part of the teams. Athletes from Vitebsk and Brest Customs did not allow representatives of other customs to overtake them, thus taking second and third places respectively, both in the relay and in the team standings. The skiers of Minsk Regional Customs celebrated victory in the relay.
In the individual standings, Elena Badenko (RUE "Beltamožservis") was the best among women in the 3 km race, with Daria Sorokina (Minsk Regional Customs) taking second place. Among the heads of customs authorities, Oleg Polkhovsky, Deputy Head of Pinsk Customs, ran the 3 km distance the fastest, Sergey Sobolev, Deputy Head of Oshmyany Customs, took second place, and Yuri Brytkov, Head of Brest Customs, was third. The winners and prize-winners in individual and team standings were awarded cups and honorary diplomas of the SCC.
