The team from Vitebsk Industrial-Pedagogical College took first place at the competition for the best hairdressers and makeup artists "Rose of Winds HAIR-2014".
The XVII International Festival of Beauty "Rose of Winds HAIR-2014" and the team championship among salons of the Republic of Belarus "Minsk Cup-2014" in hairdressing, decorative cosmetics, and nail service were held in Minsk. The best masters of the republic always anticipate these competitions with excitement, preparing to showcase their skills and learn from colleagues from abroad. Representatives of our city also consistently participate in them, confirming that the traditions of the Vitebsk school of hairdressing art are being continued.
The best results were achieved by Daria Tsybulskaya, who took first place in the nomination "Figurative Hair Cutting", Alla Shin, who took second place in the nomination "Fashionable Women's Haircut with Styling", and Ekaterina Kurilovich, who also took second place in the fashionable category in the nomination "Combined Type". Good results were shown by Victoria Maneikina, Natalia Murashko, and other team members.
Teachers Olga Ulassevich and Olga Kornilova consider the victory a completely logical outcome. They have repeatedly prepared strong teams for various competitions, which then took prize-winning places.
So, what is the secret to constant success? We asked Nadezhda Selezneva, Deputy Director of the college for vocational training, this question.
— Our educational institution has been training hairdressers, along with other specialties, for over 40 years, — she noted. — We have accumulated rich experience, both theoretical and practical. The material and technical base of the college is constantly being updated and strengthened. It is enough to note that since the beginning of the year alone, more than half a billion budget funds have been spent for these purposes. We earned 50 million rubles ourselves. A training hairdressing salon has been opened in the college dormitory, where our students provide paid services to the public at socially low prices. During their studies, they already achieve such high skill levels that are usually awarded after several years of work experience. There are all the opportunities to acquire practical skills: perfectly equipped cabinets and classrooms, good professional cosmetics, the kind that can be used in competitions. We are currently holding qualification exams for the 4th skill level, but the hairstyles and haircuts performed by the students are significantly above this level.
College Director Alexander Lesnov congratulated the winners and coaches, emphasizing that students have repeatedly won individual prizes at various international competitions, but such success for the entire team has been achieved for the first time. Participants in these competitions will be able to obtain the 5th qualification level, and they will also be materially rewarded.
