Command and staff exercises were held in the Vitebsk region

From September 14 to 20, command and staff exercises (CSE) were held in Belarus. The topic was "Management of the grouping of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations during a special operation to stabilize the situation in certain crisis regions of the state".

For the first time, CSE participants performed the tasks assigned to them at all training grounds of the Armed Forces – Losvido, Gozhsky, Lepelsky, Osipovichi, Borisov, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Domanovsky, as well as in the territories of Polotsk and Gorky districts of Vitebsk and Mogilev regions, respectively. The exercises involved management bodies, military units, operational groups and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the KGB, the State Border Committee and the Investigative Committee. In total, almost 7.5 thousand people, 60 tanks, 220 armored vehicles, 50 artillery pieces, mortars and multiple launch rocket systems were involved. About 450 reservists were called up from the reserve.

During the exercise with the territorial defense management bodies of the Vitebsk region, issues of organizing the application of territorial defense forces to detect and destroy (force to surrender) "self-defense" detachments, protect and defend important objects, combat enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups and illegal armed formations were practiced. In addition, aspects of information confrontation were worked out.

The result of the combat training was an increase in the coordination of officials' work, the improvement of their practical skills in organizing the application of territorial defense forces of the Vitebsk region in order to stabilize the situation, ensure the stable functioning of state bodies and organizations, economic facilities, communications, life support and protection of the population.
