July 31, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The costs of providing housing and communal services to the population in the Vitebsk region have been reduced by 17.5% over the past three years, the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed BELTA. The replacement of heating and water supply networks, thermal modernization of housing, implementation of apartment-based water and heat consumption metering, as well as other measures have made it possible to reduce material costs by Br20.4 billion. At the same time, water supply costs decreased by Br4.2 billion, and heating costs by more than Br9 billion. This year, savings of 36.3 thousand tons of conventional fuel worth Br14.5 billion are expected solely due to the reduction in fuel and energy consumption. In the first half of the year, the share of local fuels in the fuel balance was 42%. Housing and communal services enterprises have commissioned 126.3 MW of capacity using local fuels and installed 155 boiler units operating on wood waste. -0-
