Vitebsk utility services declared war on distributors of unauthorized advertisements

Currently, cleaning infrastructure facilities from leaflets, posters, and other outdoor advertising remains one of the pressing problems of urban economy maintenance, as unscrupulous distributors of advertisements, in pursuit of clients, ignore specially designated places, posting their offers literally everywhere: on fences, house walls, lampposts, public transport stops, etc. All this spoils the city's appearance and also adds a significant workload to utility workers. September 10, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Vitebsk utility workers have declared war on distributors of unauthorized advertisements, the head of the ideological work department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Denis Glutkin, told a BELTA correspondent. According to him, currently, cleaning infrastructure facilities from leaflets, posters, and other outdoor advertising remains one of the pressing problems of urban economy maintenance, as unscrupulous distributors of advertisements, in pursuit of clients, ignore specially designated places, posting their offers literally everywhere: on fences, house walls, lampposts, public transport stops, etc. All this spoils the city's appearance and also adds a significant workload to utility workers. "Within the framework of the autumn month of sanitary cleaning, improvement, and landscaping of the city of Vitebsk, which is taking place in the regional center in September, local authorities are taking additional measures to clean city facilities from unauthorized advertisements and bring to justice the guilty parties – legal entities and individuals acting as customers," emphasized Denis Glutkin, noting that it is not difficult to identify them: the advertisement contains all the necessary contacts for this. Denis Glutkin also recalled that in accordance with Art. 21.14 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus "Violation of the rules of improvement and maintenance of populated areas," it is prohibited to post posters, placards, advertisements, and other information materials on bus stops, buildings and structures (including temporary ones), drainpipes, fences, contact network poles, lighting, electrical and telephone communication cabinets, as well as on other objects of external improvement, except for specially designated places.
