Vitebsk region utility workers are ready for the real winter

The utility services of the Vitebsk region are ready to meet the real winter with snowfalls and ice, Svetlana Lyatyaga, head of the investment and communal services department of the Vitebsk region, told a BELTA correspondent. Meteorologists promise truly winter weather with frosts and snow already on the upcoming weekend. The workers of the communal services of the northernmost region of the country are quite ready to meet it. Thus, at the first request, 38 sand spreaders and sand distributors, over 150 units of snow removal equipment (combined road machines, tractors with brushes, graders, bulldozers), about 60 snowplows, and 105 snow removal vehicles can be deployed to the streets. The overall equipment provision is about 80%. In addition, 33.5 thousand tons of sand-salt mixture have been prepared. This stock will be replenished as needed. In total, this year, about Br6 billion of budget funds were allocated for the purchase of equipment for the maintenance of road networks by communal enterprises of the region. -0-
