Vitebskiye Pod'emniki Company Has Mastered the Production of Municipal Special Equipment

Vitebsk Elevators Company has mastered the production of utility vehicles. The enterprise has produced the first experimental model of a garbage truck, its director Andrey Sidorov reported.

The machine belongs to the category of import-substituting products, as it is manufactured from scratch and consists of 70% Belarusian raw materials. Its development took into account the best practices of leading manufacturers of this special equipment. Thus, the experimental sample of a rear-loading garbage truck with a useful body volume of 19 cubic meters on a MAZ-5340 base chassis is designed to transport 7.5 tons of waste. It is equipped with automatically extending rear steps for personnel, rear-view cameras for safe maneuvering in confined spaces (especially relevant for urban conditions), and additional rear lights to illuminate the work area. An automatic waste compaction cycle is also provided.

A significant competitive advantage is the price, which is 15% lower compared to offers from other manufacturers. This is confirmed by orders for the machine, which have already been received by the enterprise from partners from Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

Vitebsk company intends to establish serial production of this product. For this purpose, a workshop with an area of 4 thousand square meters will be built. Its commissioning is scheduled for November of this year, and about 30 jobs will be created here. It is planned to produce about 20 units of equipment monthly, which will increase the total production volume by 40%. In the future, the garbage truck line will include up to 16 different modifications developed according to customer needs. For now, until the workshop is launched, the enterprise intends to produce them on existing premises, producing 5-8 units per month.

In 2019, the growth rate of production volume at the enterprise was about 126%. About 90% of the manufactured products were exported to countries of near and far abroad. Additionally, about 40 jobs were created, and new production facilities were opened (3 thousand sq.m. of production area were commissioned). The investment volume amounted to about $1 million of own funds, which were directed towards the purchase of equipment. Two new models of hydraulic lifts were designed (with lifting heights of 15 and 45 m), and serial production of branded machines was organized – hydraulic lifts with lifting heights of 50 m, 52 m, and 56 m. This year, considering the planned targets, the investment volume is planned to be doubled.

"For us, the most important task is export performance. I believe that every enterprise should work thoroughly in this direction, and also pay paramount attention to the economic efficiency of its activities and its quality indicators," emphasized Andrey Sidorov, noting that Vitebsk Lifts has a sales profitability of 24-28% on average. The head of the enterprise considers the personnel issue, which has been resolved over the past two years, to be another significant achievement. "Thanks to the created conditions, we have formed a stable team and a large personnel reserve, from blue-collar workers to engineering and technical staff," added the head.

Private enterprise "Vitebsk Cranes Machine-Building Company" (trademark VIPO) was established in 2004 and is part of a group of complementary legal entities specializing in the development of lifting and transport equipment production. The enterprise has mastered the production of about 85 models of equipment, including drilling and crane-manipulator units, and tail lifts. Annually, the company produces about 450 machines of various types. "Vitebsk Cranes" is a corporate partner of leading automotive manufacturers in Belarus and Russia. The average number of employees is about 320 people.
