A confectioner from Liozno district became a prize-winner of the republican professional skills competition
At the republican competition-seminar for cooks, confectioners, and waiters of consumer cooperation, Liozno confectioner Tatyana Shedko (pictured) won a third-degree diploma.
— I earned the right to represent Pridvinye at the republican competition by performing well at the regional stage, — Tatyana Shedko said. — As part of the professional skills competition, participants had to complete several practical tasks.
First, the judges evaluated
"the homework assignment" — pre-prepared three-tiered wedding cakes. Tatyana spent five days preparing her eight-kilogram work of art, enlisting the help of all the confectionary workshop employees: the girls spent day and night hand-sculpting colorful flowers from mastic and baking cake layers. The Pridvinye creation was recognized as the best in terms of taste and appearance.Next, the confectioners began baking: the jury allocated a couple of hours for the contestants to create two dozen muffins, cupcakes, and decorate them. And here, the representative from Liozno region was at her best, as she was in the final nomination — the creation of artistic compositions from caramel, mastic, and marzipan with their subsequent serving at the table.
As a result, based on the total number of points, Tatyana Shedko took 3rd place, and the Vitebsk Regional Union of Consumer Societies was recognized as the best in the team competition, winning the Grand Prix of the prestigious competition for the first time in ten years.
