Konyuk: the stronger the border, the calmer the lives of citizens

The stronger the border, the calmer the lives of citizens. This opinion was shared today in Vitebsk with journalists by the Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Konyuk, who took part in a meeting of the regional commission on state border policy.

"Border security of the country is one of the priority areas of prosecutorial supervision. This is a very important issue for us, and not only in terms of monitoring how local authorities comply with the border law. There should be close cooperation between prosecutors and management bodies to organize effective work on strengthening the border," said Alexander Konyuk. "What is happening now in Europe concerns us too. And the stronger the Belarusian border is, the calmer our lives will be."

The meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus Leonid Maltsev, summarized the work on fulfilling the tasks of ensuring border security in the region in 2015 and outlined priority tasks for 2016.
