The competition for a parliamentary seat from the Vitebsk region will be more than three candidates per seat
August 23, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The competition for a deputy seat from the Vitebsk region will be over three candidates per seat. The registration of candidates for deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the fifth convocation has been completed in the region, and in all 14 constituencies, elections will be held on an alternative basis, the deputy head of the organizational and personnel work department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Leonid Dorofeenko, told a BELTA correspondent.
At the meetings of the constituency election commissions, which were held everywhere in the region on August 22, registration certificates were issued to 48 candidates out of 61 applicants. Of the registered candidates, 28 citizens are representatives of parties: 11 members will run in the elections from the Liberal Democratic Party, five from the Belarusian Party of Left "A Just World", three from the United Civic Party, four from the BPF Party, three from the Republican Party of Labor and Justice, and one each from the CCPB and the Belarusian Social Democratic Party "Gromada".
The main reason for refusal of registration was the indication of unreliable information in income declarations; there were also refusals due to violations in signature sheets.
