The competition for the best large family will become an annual event in Vitebsk

Good grades of children, conscientious work of parents and warm family relationships will be the main criteria for determining the best large family in Vitebsk. The decision to hold the annual city review-competition "Best Large Family" was made by the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee's Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection informed a BELTA correspondent. The main goal of the competition is to increase the prestige and authority of large families, strengthen spiritual and moral foundations, revive and promote family values and traditions. An organizing committee and a jury will be created to determine the best, and their composition will also be approved annually by the order of the chairman of the city executive committee. In accordance with the regulations, full large families registered and residing in Vitebsk have the right to participate in the review-competition. Among the evaluation criteria, organizers mention positive feedback about parents at work, their participation in public life, and for children - good academic performance with grades no lower than "six" and behavior. The conditions for raising and educating children will also be taken into account. The organizing committee will also determine the nominations in which large families can most fully reveal themselves through various competition formats. Winners will receive cash prizes and valuable gifts. They will be entrusted with representing the city in the regional review-competition. The competition will be held in April, on the eve of Family Day. In Vitebsk, more than 1,000 families have the status of large families. These families are raising 3.3 thousand children. According to the department, in the first half of the current year, 119 large families received targeted social assistance in the city.
