The 'Snowy Fairytale-2019' snow sculpture competition was held in Vitebsk on Snow Day
The authors of the snow sculptures, whose selfies against their backdrop flooded the social media feeds of Vitebsk residents over the weekend, were teachers from the regional center. You must agree, one cannot indifferently pass by the masterfully sculpted Lesik the fox, the mascot of the II European Games, or fail to capture oneself next to a funny piglet bathing in a winter bath, or other fairy-tale characters. The right to present their creations on the main square of Vitebsk was given to the winners of the district rounds of the city competition "Snow Fairy Tale," organized by the education department of the city executive committee. As a result, more than 25 sculptures delight the townspeople.
The winners were determined in three nominations. Among the thematic compositions on the Year of the Small Motherland, the jury recognized the snow installation "Date with Vitebsk" by teachers of Gymnasium No. 3 named after A. Pushkin as the best. Silver was shared by two teams of representatives from preschool educational institutions of the October District, who sculpted a "Belarus" tractor and the Vitebsk Town Hall.
Third place was taken by preschool teachers from the Zheleznodorozhny District with the composition "Land Under White Wings." In the "Super Snowman" nomination, the "Sportsman Snowman" from Secondary School No. 46 won. His "colleagues," "Champion" and "Biathlete" (created by Gymnasiums No. 1 and No. 7), took second place.
The "Skier," a collective creation by employees of kindergartens in the Zheleznodorozhny District, rounded out the top three in the judges' voting.
The best fairy-tale figure was created by the team of the Vitebsk City Center for Additional Education of Children and Youth, who creatively embodied the image of the Snow Queen. The "Three Little Pigs" from representatives of the kindergartens of the Zheleznodorozhny district took second place, and third place was shared by the "Polar Bear" from Secondary School No. 25 and "Winter Miracle" from Gymnasium No. 1.
While the jury was evaluating the конкурсные works, the spectators and participants of the festival were not bored; the regional and city departments of sports and tourism organized entertainment and sports competitions for them in hockey, snow mini-football, darts, tug-of-war, arm wrestling, and kettlebell lifting, as well as a winter sports festival.
