Tenders for the concession of Belarusian deposits will be announced soon
June 7, Minsk / Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA /. Belarus plans to announce international tenders in the near future for the selection of concessionaires for the development of a number of mineral deposits. This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by Vladimir Varaxa, Director of the Geology Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
"We plan that all tenders will be announced by the end of June - mid-July," the expert noted. Belarus plans to transfer the following deposits to concession: "Golbitsa" clay (Postavy district, Vitebsk region), "Ulesye" sand and sand-gravel material (Dokshitsy district, Vitebsk region), "Dobrushskoye" chalk (Dobrush district, Gomel region), "Kuropolye" clay (Postavy district, Vitebsk region), "Perenosinskoye" sand-gravel material (Baranovichi district, Brest region). A concession proposal will also be announced for the "Turovskoye" combustible shale deposit, located in the eastern part of the Stolin district of the Brest region and in the southern part of the Zhytkavichy district of the Gomel region.
Currently, experts are completing preparatory work for organizing the tenders. A number of regulatory acts have been prepared for this, including a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers on determining the main conditions of concession agreements. "The last step is to determine the starting amounts of one-time payments, i.e., the initial price for each deposit," Vladimir Varaxa noted. "We have prepared this document and sent it for approval, comments on it have already been received, including from the Ministry of Economy. We are now urgently finalizing these starting amounts with minor adjustments." Next week, the Ministry of Natural Resources plans to submit the relevant draft resolution to the government for consideration. "Once it is adopted, we will proceed directly to announcing the tenders, which, according to the law, will last for six months," the source explained. -0-
