The Vitebsk Technological University is creating a consortium of labor market researchers with universities from five countries
November 6, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Scientists of the Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU) together with colleagues from universities of five countries plan to create a labor market research consortium, reported to BELTA correspondent Elena Vankevich, Head of the Department of Management of the Vitebsk university, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor.
This agreement was reached following the international scientific and practical conference "Socio-economic development of organizations and regions of Belarus: innovations, social guidelines, globalization", held at VSTU with the participation of more than 250 scientists and specialists from seven countries. The idea of creating a network of researchers was proposed by representatives of the University of Daugavpils (Latvia) and supported by scientists from VSTU, N. Copernicus University (Poland), and one of the Portuguese universities. In the future, scientists from the Korolev Institute of Management, Economics and Sociology (Russia) and the ECOMEN Institute of Economics and Management (Estonia) plan to join the consortium. "This format of cooperation will allow university specialists to promptly exchange information and experience, develop topics for joint scientific work, and conduct research on labor market problems of the consortium member countries, using unified methodological approaches and indicators," noted Elena Vankevich. The research results will be of interest to public administration bodies involved in the social and labor sphere of each specific country.
In addition, scientists from Vitebsk State Technological University will conduct a series of bilateral joint research projects with partners from foreign universities. For example, in cooperation with representatives of Daugavpils University, it is planned to implement a research project on economic clustering. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that the creation of clusters is one of the promising areas of economic development, an effective mechanism for increasing productivity, innovation, and competitiveness of both enterprises and organizations within clusters and the region as a whole, explained Elena Vankevich. Russian scientists from the Korolev Institute of Management, Economics and Sociology intend to take part in the preparation of a scientific monograph on labor payment issues in Russia and Belarus, jointly with Vitebsk specialists.
The management of the Estonian Institute of Economics and Management ECOMEN has shown interest in the master's student training system at VSTU and the research conducted by Vitebsk scientists. A plan of measures for the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the universities is currently being prepared, which is planned to include internships for teachers at both universities, and in the future, the organization of joint student training with subsequent receipt of diplomas from Belarusian and Estonian universities. The issue of joint participation of VSTU and ECOMEN specialists in international cross-border and transnational cooperation programs is also being worked out.-0-
