The concept of a unified agrarian policy is being prepared in the Union State

April 2, Minsk / Vladimir Vasilkov - BELTA /. The concept of a unified agrarian policy will be considered at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. This was announced today at a press conference in Minsk by Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Vasily Khrol, BELTA correspondent reports. "The draft concept has been prepared by the ministries of agriculture and food of the two countries," Vasily Khrol said. In accordance with the concept, the synchronization of actions of the Russian and Belarusian sides to increase the potential of the agro-industrial complex is envisaged. In addition, coordination of the division of labor and market development strategies is envisaged. "Isn't it good if we think together about how to divide the markets? For example, why grow flax in the Far East when it can be grown in the Vitebsk region and exported? Or, conversely, why grow a lot of corn in the Vitebsk region if it can be grown, for example, in the Krasnodar Territory," the deputy state secretary noted. In addition, he said, the concept envisages the unification and synchronization of subsidies and preferences provided by the states for agricultural enterprises. -0-
