The concept of the Orsha district geoinformation system project will be presented to the government by June 1
The GIS "Orshansky District" is a district-level geographic information system based on web technologies, displaying terrain objects in the form of a cartographic representation and its associated information description, providing tools for working with them. The system is being created on the basis of the ZIS geoportal and will include a set of information layers on various aspects of the district's life. The function of information providers for these layers is planned to be assigned to the services, organizations, departments of the executive committee and other organizations. Thus, with the help of GIS, a unified information space will be formed for the interaction of key district structures. Information from these sources will be combined into a single array, while ensuring the provision of necessary, correct and operational information to the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee to support the making of correct and timely decisions in matters of territorial management.
The result of the system implementation should be the creation of district and regional infrastructure for analyzing and controlling information from all databases. This will increase the efficiency of managing the region's economy, contribute to the optimization of budget financing expenditures and the achievement of the region's socio-economic development indicators. During a recent discussion of the main provisions of the GIS creation concept by the leadership of the State Property Committee and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, it was decided to first implement GIS technologies in the fields of agriculture, housing and communal services, and land management as the most promising.
The pilot project for the creation of the automated geographic information system "Orshansky District" should
to be implemented by the end of the socio-economic development program of the Orsha district until 2020.BELTA. Photo from the website of the State Property Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
