April 8, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The Belbiofarm concern plans to implement 5 investment projects in 2010-2015 with a total funding of about Br600 billion. This was announced by Vladimir Gapanovich, First Deputy Chairman of the Belbiofarm concern, at the VIII Congress of Pharmacists of Belarus, which is taking place today in Vitebsk, according to a BELTA correspondent. All projects are aimed at introducing new medicinal preparations into production. Thus, Borisov Plant of Medical Preparations OJSC will create a production of solid dosage forms. A new pharmaceutical enterprise, Belvitunipharm, is being built in Vitebsk. Belmedpreparaty RUP plans to implement two projects - to reconstruct the production of anti-cancer agents in the form of lyophilized powders and solutions for injection, and to create new production facilities for medicinal products that comply with GMP standards. Grodno Plant of Medical Preparations RUP will build a plant for the production of feed amino acids for agriculture. The implementation of investment projects will allow the concern to increase the annual output of medicinal products to at least Br650 billion by 2015, and the share of innovative products to 25% of the total volume of shipped products. It is expected to ensure the supply of medicinal products to the domestic market for at least Br450 billion and increase the export potential of domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers to $120 million, or by 160% compared to the 2009 level. Almost all domestic enterprises are currently carrying out reconstruction and modernization of production facilities, which will allow them to establish the production of new types of high-tech, knowledge-intensive products and ensure the country's drug independence, Vladimir Gapanovich noted. -0-
