April 20, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. About Br8.5 billion has been allocated from the city budget for the continuation of reconstruction work on the Vitebsk Concert Hall, the second most important venue of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk festival after the Summer Amphitheatre, the Vitebsk Culture Center, which manages the concert hall, told a BELTA correspondent. The reconstruction of the building, built in 1988 with a total area of 114.5 thousand sq.m., began in December 2010 by decision of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. For the jubilee XX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", the 1050-seat auditorium was renovated with new seats, its interior was modernized, and necessary preparatory work for the installation of concert lighting equipment was carried out. However, due to insufficient funding, some of the planned work had to be postponed. Currently, the utilization of funds allocated from the city budget for the continuation of work and the completion of the main works of the first stage of reconstruction has begun. They are expected to be completed by the upcoming festival. -0-
