"Queen Spring-2015" was chosen in Vitebsk

Beautiful female students from four universities of the regional center competed for the title of "the very best" at the regional contest of grace and artistic skill "Queen Spring-2015", which took place at the Vitebsk State Technological University.

Among the girls were winners of intra-university contests, already experienced models, and titled beauties. Following the concept of the event – "Pygmalion Next" – the organizers wanted to show the transformation of an ordinary flower girl into a socialite, as in Bernard Shaw's work. In the image of flower girls, the participants first appeared before the audience and jury during the fashion show. Each appearance was a change of image and new outfits from the clothing collection by the famous Belarusian designer Irina Yurchenko. The fashion show in swimsuits also turned into a bright show. Huge white wings were attached to the girls' backs, and they looked like angels. The contestants also had to worry a lot when being tested for erudition and flexibility of mind. The hosts asked tricky questions, for example, "What geometric shape do you associate yourself with?", "What does it mean to eat properly?", "Why is beauty a terrible force?", and so on. Each contender for the crown not only paraded but also demonstrated her creative abilities – she danced or performed a song.

The final act was the "Cheerleading" (cheerleader dance) performance: sponsors chose the most athletic participant, who received a special prize from a dance school. This was Viktoria Shchetinina.

While awarding the contest winners, one of its permanent coordinators, Vice-Rector of VSTU Boris Ryklin, noted that very strong and worthy participants appeared on stage, and the event itself turned into a spectacular show, making it very difficult for the jury to make their choice.

Anastasia Volynets became the Second Vice-Miss, and Kristina Balchevskaya became the First Vice-Miss. The "Queen of Spring" crown was awarded to Svetlana Gorbacheva, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Design and Technology at VSTU. Soon, she will represent the Vitebsk region at the republican competition in the capital. "Miss Photo," "Miss Charm," "Miss Grace," and "Miss Artistry" were also chosen. The participants themselves chose "Miss Friendship" – this was Anastasia Kirillova.

Immediately after the award ceremony, Svetlana Gorbacheva said that this was not her first time on the podium. She was among the winners of “Miss Dazhynki”, “Miss Vitebsk”, “Miss University”. “Queen of Spring-2015” admitted that she dreams of winning in Minsk and reaching the international stage of the competition.

— Don't be shy about your talents, work on yourselves, and everything will work out, — Svetlana Gorbacheva wished all the girls. — Don't doubt yourselves. Each of us has a special something”.
