Each district of the Vitebsk region will receive its own color

Each region of our oblast will be marked with a separate color on a belt, which will be woven on November 28 by participants of the folk costume festival-competition "Ribbons of Skill" in Senno.

The organizers, primarily the oblast methodological center of folk art, claim that an event of this format will take place for the first time. Senno was chosen as the venue for the folk festival not by chance. The renowned researcher of folk culture Mikhail Katsar was born in the district. His sister Matrona Markevich, whose ornament adorns the state flag of the Republic of Belarus, is also buried here in the cemetery near the village of Privetka.

Guests are expected not only from Belarus but also from the neighboring Smolensk and Pskov oblasts of the Russian Federation. Participants of the event will be treated to a conference dedicated to the revival of national costume traditions, master classes from the folk masters club "Inspiration," various exhibitions, performances by amateur art groups, and much more.
