The Kraslava region of Latvia is interested in implementing joint investment projects with the Vitebsk region

April 21, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The Kraslava region of Latvia is interested in implementing joint investment projects with the Vitebsk region. This was announced today at the opening of an exhibition of Latvian artists in Vitebsk by the Chairman of the Kraslava Regional Duma, Gunars Upenieks, BELTA correspondent reports. Cooperation in the field of culture always becomes a kind of road for the development of economic relations, noted Gunars Upenieks. "Our businessmen are interested in implementing various investment projects in the Vitebsk region and are open to cooperation," he stressed, noting that the main obstacle in this direction remains insufficient and untimely information about promising proposals. It is planned to eliminate this drawback through joint efforts of both sides in the shortest possible time. The impetus for the development of bilateral relations between the Vitebsk region and the Kraslava region was the cooperation agreement in the field of culture signed in January 2011. Within the framework of this agreement, exhibitions of famous Latvian artists Andrey and Nina Gorgots opened today simultaneously in Vitebsk and Verkhnedvinsk for the first time in Belarus. Among other projects for the current year are the participation of Latvian folk art groups in international music and song festivals in Postavy, Braslav, Dubrovno, folk craft masters from Latvia will take part in the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". And amateur artists, masters and artists from the Vitebsk region have received invitations to participate in interesting cultural events of the Kraslava region. In addition, one of the largest cultural and economic projects that will unite the two regions in the near future will be the holding of Latgale Days in Vitebsk. It is planned that it will be held for the first time in 2012. -0-
