The Red Cross is collecting clothes and food to help Ukrainian migrants

Residents of the Vitebsk region are actively interested in how they can provide feasible assistance to displaced migrants from Eastern Ukraine. The editorial office has repeatedly received calls with questions and suggestions.

As we were informed by the regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, over the summer period, more than 100 Ukrainian immigrants applied to their Vitebsk office alone. In addition to the most essential thing – information – they received two humanitarian kits each (food and hygiene), which will be enough for the first time. After all, most people arrive with only the bare essentials from home.

Among those who applied, women with children predominated, and there were even 4 pregnant women. In this regard, on the eve of the start of the academic year, the regional organization of the BRCS organized a series of campaigns to collect stationery and funds to prepare children from Ukraine for school.

Subsequently, it is planned to conduct similar campaigns to provide migrants with warm clothing for the winter. In fact, the collection of clothes, food, and hygiene products from the public is already underway in all Red Cross units. Shoes and men's clothing are especially in demand, as they are always brought in smaller quantities.

In addition, the BRCS has opened a charitable account: 3015740099012 CB No. 539 OJSC "Belinvestbank", BIC (MFO) 153001739, code 739. UNP 100265026. Beneficiary - "Belarusian Red Cross Society with the mandatory note "Aid to Ukraine".

You can also send an SMS to the short number 553 in the following format: 501 space donation amount.

With the collected money, the BRCS plans to provide needy Ukrainian migrants with food and hygiene kits, seasonal clothing, and medications.
