A large batch of marijuana seized from a Vitebsk resident

August 17, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A large batch of marijuana was seized from a Vitebsk resident, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.

On the Vitebsk-Orsha highway in the village of Oktyabrsky near Vitebsk, police officers, while inspecting an Audi car, discovered 4 kg of undried marijuana. The driver of the car, who is also the owner of the cargo, a 31-year-old resident of the regional center, was detained.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man for illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs under Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to five years of imprisonment.-0-
