Large Swedish concern “NCC” has shown interest in the products of the Novopolotsk large-panel housing construction plant, which is part of construction and installation trust No. 16. The company is able to search for foreign sales markets due to the full-scale modernization of production, which has significantly improved the competitiveness of the manufactured products. Initially, as Deputy Director of CMT No. 16 Dmitry Paramonov explained, the Novopolotsk team visited St. Petersburg to discuss options for joint housing construction with the Russian company “Belproektstroy”. During the negotiations, the idea arose to offer cooperation to the concern “NCC” – one of the largest international construction corporations in Northern Europe with an annual turnover of over 6 billion euros.

Today, over 18,000 employees work in the holding's divisions; it unites dozens of enterprises in the field of construction and real estate development. In St. Petersburg, “NCC” is building housing, purchasing prefabricated reinforced concrete structures from two Russian companies. However, their capacities are insufficient, so the search for new partners has become relevant. Our compatriots could well become them.

Recently, the heads of the St. Petersburg representative office of “NCC” visited Novopolotsk, where they inspected the workshops of the large-panel housing construction plant, familiarized themselves with the technological processes, and held negotiations with the management. The assessment of product quality was high. The guests noted that it meets the level of European standards. Now the Novopolotsk team must calculate their price offers. If the terms are acceptable to both parties, a cooperation agreement will be signed soon.

What makes Novopolotsk’s KPD products good? As Dmitry Paramonov noted, customers are fully satisfied with their properties. The modernized panels feature improved surface quality, good sound insulation, and a higher thermal conductivity coefficient, which meets the requirements of Russian standards even for the northern regions. Furthermore, flexible design solutions allow for the construction of houses with improved layouts and the installation of apartment-based heating systems. Overall, in terms of consumer characteristics, houses made from new-generation panels are not inferior to brick houses, while being more affordable: 8.5-9 million rubles per square meter.

Three houses have already been built in Novopolotsk using modernized series structures, and two in Polotsk. Their residents have not voiced frequent complaints about high indoor humidity and mold, as the apartments in these houses are warmer.

Full modernization of the plant involves the installation of new Finnish equipment, improvement of technological processes, increase in production volumes, and enhancement of product quality. This will be followed by significant economic recovery of the enterprise.

Today, according to the head of the enterprise, the modernization process has entered its final stage, and the reconstruction of auxiliary workshops is planned to be completed by the end of the current year. Current capacities allow for the production of 70 thousand square meters of housing per year, and subsequently, the volumes should be increased to 100 thousand square meters. There are enough similar productions in Belarus, so the main task for Novopolotsk remains finding customers outside the country. If everything goes well, Swedish and Russian businessmen will become such partners.
