A large arsenal of Soviet-era ammunition has been destroyed in the Postavy district

September 10, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A large ammunition depot from Soviet times has been destroyed in the Postavy district, investigator-criminalist of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office Alexander Kazakov told a BELTA correspondent. Operational information was received about the presence of several ammunition rounds in a fire pond at the site of a former military unit near the village of Olsya. Servicemen of military unit 2044 conducted a survey of the reservoir. The findings discovered after pumping out the water exceeded all expectations of the soldiers: the rich "catch" consisted of 18 FAB-50 aerial bombs and 321 artillery shells of 37 mm caliber. To guard the arsenal until the arrival of a special demining group from military unit 5530, security of the site was organized. Currently, all ammunition has been removed to a safe place and destroyed.-0-
