The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office mini-football team brought home the cup and medals from a tournament in Moscow

The team of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office brought a cup and medals for an honorable third place from the international mini-football tournament among prosecutor's office employees in Moscow, senior assistant prosecutor of the Vitebsk region for legal support, information and public relations Irina Tavtyn told a BELTA correspondent. The 15th Dzerzhinsky District Prosecutor's Cup of Moscow V.I. Sevryugin Memorial mini-football tournament, held at the Olimpiyskiy complex "Luzhniki", gathered 17 teams from Moscow and various regions of Russia this year. The international status of this tournament was given by the participation of the Vitebsk team, the only Belarusian team invited to this prestigious event. The Vitebsk team provided worthy competition to the Russian teams, yielding their positions to the tournament hosts only in the semi-finals, where they lost to the Moscow Military Prosecutor's Office on penalties. As a result, this team took second place, and the first step of the podium went to the Moscow Prosecutor's Office. This is not the first sporting event between employees of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office and their colleagues from Russia. Thus, in the autumn of 2008, teams from the prosecutor's offices of the Smolensk and Pskov regions took part in a mini-football tournament in Vitebsk, Irina Tavtyn noted, adding that common interests in sports help strengthen cooperation in the professional sphere. -0-
