Four teams will compete for the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Chairman's Cup in hockey

August 3, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The sixth ice hockey tournament for the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Chairman's Cup will be held in the regional center from August 12 to 15 with the participation of four Belarusian teams, Dmitry Ivanenkov, press attaché of the HC Vitebsk hockey club, told a BELTA correspondent. This year, "Khimik-SKA" (Novopolotsk), the Mogilev club "Khimvolokno" and "Yunost-MHL" from Minsk will visit the hosts of the ice rink, HC "Vitebsk". All tournament participants consider the games in Vitebsk as the final stage of preparation for the upcoming Belarus Cup games and the subsequent start of the national championship. First, the teams will hold a single-round tournament, the results of which will determine the participants of the matches for first and third places. Then, in the playoff matches, the winner and prize-winners will be determined. In addition to the main awards, the best goaltender, defenseman, forward, and top scorer will be awarded valuable prizes. In addition, during the hockey marathon, the best players of the teams will be honored after each match. The main task for the Vitebsk hockey team in the upcoming tournament will be to develop game connections and scout potential new players for the club, noted Dmitry Ivanenkov. Currently, HC "Vitebsk" is undergoing a generational change, as a number of veteran players left the team during the offseason. Changes have affected all lines, including the fact that young graduates of the Vitebsk farm club will defend the club's goal in the new season. One of the most notable acquisitions of "Vitebsk" is defenseman Oleg Blagoy, who plays for the Ukrainian national team. A number of Russian players are also on tryouts in "Vitebsk". -0-
