Puppet theaters will be presented for the first time at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk"
"Puppet Format" project will be implemented for the first time at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" International Arts Festival. This was announced today to journalists by the director of the festival directorate, Alexander Sidorenko, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"It will be a presentation of Belarusian puppet theaters and an introduction to a troupe from St. Petersburg. There will be 5 performances on the stage of the "Lialka" Theater, and one performance in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall," said Alexander Sidorenko.
In his opinion, as many art forms as possible should be represented at the "Slavianski Bazaar". "Our festival is multi-genre. This year we are making an attempt to diversify it by including various projects. People come to Vitebsk not only for solo concerts of stars, they want more: to immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere, to visit an exhibition, a classical music concert, a theatrical performance," the head of the directorate is confident. To achieve this goal, in addition to the new puppet project, the student competition-exhibition "Art Session" will be presented at the current forum, and the beloved jazz evenings will be revived. This project has been renamed "Jazz Marathon" in a new interpretation. "For three days in a row, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., a kind of jazz cafe will be open in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall. The number of spectators is limited, and the lineup of participants is stellar," explained Alexander Sidorenko. The jazz concerts are scheduled to feature performers such as Roy Young (Great Britain), Alik Akopov, Leonid Ptashka (Israel), Kristina Aglints (Russia), Ron Jackson (USA), and others.
The forum organizers also plan to breathe new life into the "Festival Without Borders" program - instead of mixed concerts, programs of artists from Bulgaria, Latvia, and Israel will be presented. "We plan to develop this format. Next year, a concert of artists from China should take place. There are proposals from many countries that would like to present themselves at the festival in Vitebsk," noted the head of the festival directorate.
The XXIIIrd International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held from July 10 to 14. Representatives from 30 countries will take part in the forum's events.
