Culinary battles will unfold in Vitebsk on March 31

The best cook in the Vitebsk region will be chosen on March 31, Elena Zhurumskaya, head of the public catering department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Trade and Services Department, told a BELTA correspondent. The culinary art and service competition will be held in Vitebsk at the "Energiya" restaurant. 40 people from Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, and Novolukoml have declared their participation. Winners will be determined in team and individual competitions. Team composition includes five people: a manager, a cook, a pastry chef, a waiter, and a bartender, all under 31 years of age. They will have to prepare a lunch for six people, including a cold appetizer, soup, a main hot dish, and dessert. Individual competitions are held in the categories of "Culinary Art," "Pastry Art," and "Service Class" (categories "Bartender" and "Waiter"). There is no age limit for contenders in these categories. All participants will have to impress the jury members and spectators with the original presentation of their culinary creations, their unique taste qualities, and demonstrate professionalism in their work. The event is held with the aim of improving the level of restaurant service, popularizing Belarusian national cuisine and world cuisines, enhancing the professional skills of catering workers, and promoting new trends in the development of culinary art and service. The competition is organized by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Trade and Services Department and the Department for Youth Affairs, as well as the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union of Workers. -0-
