The cultural and health center in Liozno has been fully commissioned
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko. He congratulated his countrymen on the long-awaited event and wished health and sports success to everyone who will visit the center.
"Thanks to the joint efforts of the republican government bodies, the Vitebsk region and the Liozno district, such a significant facility for Liozno has been commissioned in the Year of the Small Motherland. If it were done single-handedly, it would probably have been impossible. Special words of gratitude to the builders for their work, they have created a pearl for the residents of the district," noted Vladimir Andreichenko.
The first phase of the cultural and recreational center was commissioned two years ago for the 73rd anniversary of the region's liberation. At that time, the building housed the district library and the house of crafts, as well as rooms for table tennis and fitness. The new part of the building will feature a three-lane swimming pool, a gym, and a sports hall. The construction work was financed by the district budget. The contractor was the state enterprise "Vitebskobselstroy".
The head of the Vitebsk region, Nikolai Sherstnev, expressed hope that the facility will be in demand not only among young people but also among adults and the elderly. "It is very important that the center is not empty. If it is overcrowded, we will think about what else to add to it," said the chairman of the regional executive committee.
Currently, the new center building hosts training sessions in mini-football, basketball, and volleyball. After the pool is completed in Liozno, swimming will be developed. A section for a new sport for the district center – acrobatic gymnastics – will also appear, and a group is already being recruited. Everyone will be able to attend classes in therapeutic physical culture and general physical training.
