The Kursk region plans to conclude cooperation agreements with Vitebsk

The Kursk region of Russia plans to conclude agreements on trade and economic cooperation with Minsk, Vitebsk and Grodno. This was stated by the Governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Mikhailov, at a meeting with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.

 – We have relations with the Gomel and Mogilev regions. During this visit, an agreement on cooperation with the Minsk City Executive Committee will be signed. Agreements with Vitebsk and Grodno are also being prepared, – said Alexander Mikhailov.

The Russian governor is visiting Belarus for the sixth time. The current delegation of the Kursk region consists of 45 people.

 – At one time, we had a minimal volume of trade. Then we reached good heights, then there was a decline. But this year, based on the results of nine months, the trade turnover has increased by one and a half times compared to the same period in 2016. By the end of the year, we will reach approximately 140 million dollars. There are prospects for further increasing trade turnover. This is very important for us, – emphasized Alexander Mikhailov.

In 2017, it was 15 years since the signing of the agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the government of Belarus and the administration of the Kursk region.

 – I would like to express the most sincere words of gratitude for the friendly climate that has developed in our relations, – said the head of the Russian region.
