The "VitebskTourist" travel and services bureau offers quest excursions, which are currently the only ones in Belarus.

It differs from a traditional sightseeing tour by its educational and entertainment nature and elements of a treasure hunt-style game. The group of tourists is divided into several teams, each of which is given an individual quest route for an independent interactive city tour, similar to a knowledge hunt. At several points, usually near architectural monuments or landmarks, organizers await the players, who can be identified by special signs (bright scarves, balloons, etc.). A brief story about the attraction ends with a question. Having answered it correctly, the team continues their journey, and in case of an error, they receive a penalty in the form of additional minutes to the final quest time. At the end, all players gather at an agreed location, where the winner is determined. For comfortable movement around the city, transport is provided to tourists.

As Olga Vasilyeva, head of the travel agency "Vitebskturist", told us, the new service is based on the idea of the game "Zarnitsa", familiar to many since childhood, improved and adapted to modern realities. Routes and special tasks can be adjusted depending on the clients' goals and their available time. So far, the offer has been used only once: a regular corporate client decided to combine team-building tasks with an educational journey and, according to the agency's employees, was satisfied. "Vitebskturist" hopes that quest tours will soon become popular, as there are currently no analogues on our country's tourism market.
