According to information received from the Latvian and Lithuanian sides, due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation caused by the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, the previously established border crossing restrictions have been extended.

As reported by the official representative of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Glebko, the quarantine regime established in the Republic of Lithuania has been extended until 24:00 on April 27, 2020, and the state of emergency in Latvia has been extended until May 12, 2020. Entry into the country is permitted for freight carriers, citizens of Latvia, their family members, persons holding residence and work permits in Latvia, foreign citizens permanently residing in Latvia, persons with diplomatic passports and their family members, foreigners permanently residing in Lithuania and Estonia to return to their place of residence, as well as foreign citizens who arrived in Latvia for humanitarian reasons or to ensure the interests of the state.

The possibility of crossing the Latvian-Belarusian section of the border is limited to the "Paternieki" checkpoint (from the Belarusian side "Grigorovshchina", Verkhnedvinsk district) and "Silene" ("Urbany", Braslav district).

On the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, at the simplified checkpoint "Tverechius" ("Vidzy" from the Belarusian side), the processing of persons and vehicles is still not carried out.
