Classical swine fever is a viral disease of pigs, characterized by fever, damage to blood vessels and hematopoietic organs, and croupous-diphtheritic inflammation of the mucous membrane of the large intestine. The disease is registered in all countries. Classical swine fever causes enormous economic damage to farms: mortality is 80-100%. The virus affects only domestic and wild pigs. The source of the infection agent is sick pigs. Among the factors of transmission of the agent are feed, water, bedding, manure, etc., contaminated with secretions of sick animals. Pigs that have recovered acquire a stable lifelong immunity to the disease.
