Laureates of the regional stage of the "Woman of the Year-2019" competition were awarded in Vitebsk
27 women took part in the regional stage. In addition to nominations such as "Successful Leader", "Active Life Stance", "Maternal Glory", "Mistress of the Village", and "Spirituality and Culture", an additional one was introduced - "Successful International Cooperation". Elena Kochаnova, Director of the Smolensk Regional Center for Folk Art, became the best in this nomination.
"Among the awardees are diverse women. They have distinguished themselves in public life, manage large-scale production, raise children, and have shown good results in agriculture. It is important that the best are chosen not by a state structure, but by a public organization that directly observes women in their lives," noted Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies.
Among the laureates is Tatyana Shabusova, a mother of many children from the Dubrovno district. She has 10 biological children in her close-knit family: seven sons and three daughters. Most of them are already adults, studying at universities, and have started their own families. "It is important to instill in children a love for work, for their parents, and respect for people," believes the mother of many children. "Initially, we put a lot of effort into them – now we receive help from our children. We already have four grandchildren in our large family."
Many participants have proven by their example that family, work, self-realization, and public activity can be combined with the pace of a modern woman's life. One such woman is Inga Kozlova, Chairperson of the Polotetsky rural executive committee of the Polotsk district. She has held her position for nine years. "Of course, friends and family help. One of the most significant projects for us last year was the improvement of an abandoned spring. We found it on a former manor plot in the village of Kazimirovo and restored it. Now anyone can draw clean water from the spring," she said.
As a result of the regional stage, five women will represent the Vitebsk region in the final of the competition in Minsk. The winners of the republican competition "Woman of the Year - 2019" will be awarded in March.
