Laureates of the regional stage of the "Woman of the Year" competition were honored in Vitebsk
Women from all districts of the region took part in the regional stage. As a result, 30 residents of the region were recognized in six nominations - "Successful Leader", "Active Life Stance", "Maternal Glory", "Village Mistress", "My Heart Belongs to People", and "Spirituality and Culture".
"The competition features women working in various sectors - healthcare, education, culture, social services, and others. All of them are dedicated to the women's movement and participate in the life of the Belarusian Women's Union. In the Vitebsk region, this public organization unites 14.5 thousand representatives of the fair sex," said Elena Martynova, Chairperson of the regional organization of the BWS.

Among the awardees is Elena Myadelets, director of the Glubokoye Historical and Ethnographic Museum. She is convinced that if you love your work, success is guaranteed. "I always go to work with pleasure and know that the day will be filled with discoveries, acquaintances, and the search for something new. We strive to create new forms of work with people and the younger generation at the museum, because traditional excursions are probably no longer as interesting and relevant. Therefore, we have now implemented a project for virtual travel through the historical and cultural heritage of the Glubokoye district using VR technology," said the museum director, emphasizing the importance of knowing the history of one's small homeland.
According to Elena Myadelets, the institution she heads employs an excellent team of like-minded people, passionate about history and understanding each other implicitly. "Nothing would have been achieved without the team, including reaching the regional stage of the 'Woman of the Year' competition. Now, our plans include creating an excursion to the lesser-known corners of Glubokoye region," said the museum director.
The nominees are confident that women can achieve self-realization in any field. The most important thing is to have a passion for a profession or a hobby.
One such woman is Natalia Anishchenko, a general practitioner at the Verkhnedvinsk Central District Hospital. "My life principle is to help people. My parents taught me this since childhood. I work as a doctor, and here one needs to be maximally responsive and kind to people. I always try to find a positive in any situation. I love nature, photography, Belarusian poetry, and I share this with my patients and loved ones. Then, in return, they give me their energy," shared the laureate of the "I Give My Heart to People" nomination.
Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, noted that for centuries, history has depicted women as mothers and wives. About a hundred years ago, if a woman was a doctor or a teacher in our history, it was a unique case, and there were even fewer managers. "Today, a man in a school or healthcare is a rarity. But women as heads of educational, healthcare, cultural, and social institutions are the norm. Just as it is the norm that representatives of the fair sex manage enterprises. It is gratifying that they set an example for us men as well," added Vladimir Terentyev.
Based on the results of the regional stage, six women will represent the Vitebsk region in the final of the competition in Minsk.-0-
