Leonid Penkovsky appointed Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee

The 46th extraordinary session of the Orsha District Council of Deputies was attended by the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Chief Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Alexander Poznyak, the Chairman of the Standing Commission on Budget and Finance of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Lyudmila Dobrynina, as well as a delegation from the Beshenkovichi District headed by the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Gennady Shvedov.

One issue was put on the session's agenda – the approval of the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee. By the order of the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee N. Sherstnev, in agreement with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Leonid Penkovsky was appointed.

Natalya Kochanova reported that Leonid Penkovsky is not new to the Orsha region. It was here that he began his working career.

Natalya Ivanovna emphasized that the Orsha region is an important region of the country. The head of state spoke about this in his Address to the Belarusian people. Its development needs to be given a new impetus. But this cannot be done alone, so everyone needs to unite their efforts to accomplish the tasks set by the President of the country. And they are primarily related to the completion of spring field work, employment of the population, wage growth, price control, and so on.

By open vote, the deputies unanimously approved Leonid Penkovsky as the Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee. Nikolai Sherstnev presented Leonid Konstantinovich with the certificate of the district head.

The Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Leonid Penkovsky, thanked for the trust placed in him and assured that all efforts of specialists, workers, and residents of the region will be directed towards solving the tasks set by the President.

The chairman of the regional executive committee once again reminded that Orsha is the granary of the region, an agricultural region. It is planned to build breeding centers for the sow herd, modern dairy farms and to fully load the dairy plant.

Nikolai Sherstnev wished the new head of the district success, strong will and faith in tomorrow. He also emphasized once again that the great potential of the Orsha region must be fully utilized.
